About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for all aspects of Daimler Truck Financial Services commercial retail and lease acquisitions for fleet customers, within dedicated regions
  • Coach and mentor team of Analysts to ensure credit integrity and accuracy
  • Remain compliant with established global and local policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with DTFS Sales Team and dealer network to assist with profitable growth in the portfolio
  • Manage the execution of Canadian Credit files
  • Collaborate with Canadian Sales colleagues and make recommendations to ensure alignment with US processes
  • Ensure Canadian legal requirements are followed through transition of underwriting from Canada to US
  • Decision credit requests up to approved limits of authority of $5MM 1-4 rated or $3MM 5+ rated
  • Review credit files prior to analyst presenting to Local or RCRC committee's
  • Active member of Local Credit Committee with joint authority up to $25MM
  • Present files to RCRC, which exceed $50MM, when necessary
  • Monitor proficiency and efficiency of NASC agent tasks
  • Collaborate and make recommendations to the responsible party to ensure training and development of NASC agents
  • Perform audits if necessary
  • Coach and develop Credit Analysts on skills and competencies needed to be successful in the role, (e.g., financial analysis, asset evaluation, economic factors, etc.)
  • Recognize and reward valued behaviors
  • Conduct mid-year and annual appraisals
  • Manage the interviewing and selection of candidates, as needed
  • Participate in joint sales calls and customer/dealer visits, when necessary
  • Understand all Canadian and US Fleet related legal documentation and ensure compliance ensuring DTF perfection, i.e.: UCC / PPSA filings and Subordination Agreements and timely lease line audit performed to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to achieve optimal credit efficiencies and service levels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years relevant work experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Credit Underwriting and/or Finance/Risk Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of financial analysis experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through collaboration with internal colleagues
  • Customer centric focus
  • Candidates must be professionally proficient in French, with the ability to communicate effectively in Québécois (Canadian French) in both spoken and written business settings
  • Exceptional Candidates Might Have Commercial credit experience in the transportation industry
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience presenting financial data to decision makers
  • Minimum of 1 year of Moody's software application experience
