About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You will take the technical lead role in expanding and maintaining an effective and efficient implementation of Functional Safety (FuSi)
- You will ensure the uniform application of Functional Safety standards for all lighting products within the team and at the department level with product development responsibility
- You will act as an independent, central and globally responsible authority for reviews, audits and assessments to ensure project compliance regarding the functional safety of systems and components
- You will ensure the fulfillment of functional safety requirements in development projects according to ISO 26262 through holistic, global governance. This includes defining and implementing methodologies, processes, standard templates, tools and other supporting measures
- You will create requirements specifications as well as system and component specifications within the team, including the integration of FuSi requirements
- You will support the team in the use of tools (DOORS, DOORS Next, specific methods and macros for engineering tools) and in applying Artificial Intelligence to increase efficiency
- You will assess critical functional safety issues and escalate them when necessary according to clearly defined criteria to the Technical Clearing Committee
- You will take partial responsibility for system and component development in the lighting domain
Requirements
What you’ll need- You hold a successfully completed technical university degree in Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics
- You have solid knowledge of Functional Safety according to ISO 26262. Certification according to IEC 61508 and hands-on functional safety experience are an advantage
- You have several years of experience in the field of Functional Safety, ideally as a development engineer, software developer or in a comparable position at an OEM or Tier-1 supplier
- You possess comprehensive knowledge of development processes, particularly in the context of software development according to ASPICE®, and practical experience with analysis tools such as Medini Analyze, DOORS, DOORS Next and IQ-FMEA
- You are highly motivated to integrate new IT tools, macros and Artificial Intelligence applications into daily workflows
- You have experience collaborating with interdisciplinary and international project teams and demonstrate strong communication skills
- You have strong vehicle and system knowledge, ideally from an OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment
- You are proficient in German (minimum B2) and English (minimum B2), with business-fluent communication skills
