About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Project management for handling complex quotations and tenders for city/line buses
  • Leading internal and cross-department projects related to transformation and e‑mobility
  • Technical consulting and coordination of operational sales and customers
  • Full responsibility for complex EU tenders for diesel, electric and fuel cell buses, system offers including charging infrastructure, and depot management in the German market
  • Preparation of complex bus proposals using specific vehicle and equipment configurators, including feasibility studies and circulation/schedule calculations for customer-specific electric bus applications
  • Advising and supporting factory representatives and sales staff in preparing offers and configuring vehicles with respect to customer-specific special requirements
  • Leading and supporting sales negotiations
  • Technical clarifications with specialist departments and/or customers and preparation of complex matters (technology, manufacturability, alternatives, price)
  • Reviewing and processing technical and commercial customer requirements of all bus-specific EU tenders for the German market

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You hold a degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen) or a comparable field and bring several years of professional experience
  • You have knowledge of Daimler Buses' products and the complex technical landscape
  • You possess good knowledge of common IT applications and systems such as Teams, Outlook, MS Office, SAP, online tender portals, AI applications, etc.
  • You have experience dealing with external contacts and customers as well as in-depth knowledge of vehicle technology, bus engineering, ideally electric vehicle technology, and tender regulations in accordance with EU directives and VOL/A
  • Business-fluent German language skills complete your profile
  • You are characterized by teamwork, motivation, enthusiasm for innovative products, strong communication skills, agility, and independent and analytical thinking and acting
