About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The role combines service ownership with a strong technical focus.
- Run operations for DFL services: ensure the stability, performance and high availability of services (Kafka, Apache Hop, Dremio, Iceberg, Application Hosting) on Kubernetes, with a focus on reliability and optimization.
- Incident, problem and change management: actively participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis and change management, ensuring structured communication and sustainable corrective actions, in accordance with the ITIL framework.
- Vendor management for run operations.
- Observability and performance optimization: develop and maintain monitoring, logging, alerts and dashboards. Support capacity analyses, throughput/latency investigations and resource planning.
- Automation and standardization: create and improve runbooks, technical standards and reusable processes. Automate recurring tasks (templates, checks, onboarding) and contribute to platform conventions (RBAC, secrets, backup/restore).
- Support and advise internal users of the platform: act as the point of contact for business and product teams; advise on use cases, optimize onboarding processes (access, documentation) and run workshops to promote effective and compliant platform usage.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Computer Science, Business IT, Data Engineering or equivalent qualification — recent graduates are welcome.
- Basic understanding of platform operations and distributed systems, with an interest in reliability, automation and technical standards.
- Practical experience in several of the following areas:
- - Kubernetes (deployments, services, resources, basic troubleshooting)
- - Kafka / event streaming (producer/consumer, partitions, consumer groups, basics of offsets/lag)
- - Data pipelines / ETL (Apache Hop or equivalent)
- - Monitoring/logging/alerting (fundamentals of metrics, dashboards, alerting concepts)
- - Linux / networking fundamentals
- - Basic security in operations (secrets, certificates, access rights)
- Team player with autonomy and the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
- Ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Professional working proficiency in French and English (reading, writing, speaking). German is a real advantage.
