About the role

  • Lead the preparation, review and timely, accurate delivery of all tax filings and obligations;
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of tax data in compliance with accounting standards, including CPC (Brazilian Accounting Pronouncements Committee), IFRS and J-SOX requirements;
  • Oversee billing/system updates in SAP in response to changes in ICMS/IVA, PIS, COFINS, Import Duty and Corporate Income Tax legislation;
  • Perform and/or review monthly reconciliations of tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance;
  • Monitor changes in local tax legislation, interpret their impacts and communicate them to relevant stakeholders;
  • Lead the company’s strategy, implementation and governance related to the Brazilian Tax Reform;
  • Analyze new legislation and proposed regulatory changes to assess impacts on the company’s tax burden, processes and systems;
  • Develop and recommend strategic tax planning initiatives, identifying opportunities for tax optimization, incentives, special regimes and credit recoveries;
  • Provide proactive tax guidance and consulting for new business initiatives, product launches and expansion projects;
  • Develop communication strategies and training programs to enable internal stakeholders (commercial, supply chain, finance, etc.) on the operational impacts of the new tax model;
  • Ensure compliance with local and global transfer pricing regulations;
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation; review preliminary reports prepared by consultants and provide feedback to ensure accuracy and efficient delivery;
  • Collaborate closely with global tax teams on intercompany agreements and pricing policies;
  • Prepare and organize information to respond to tax authority inquiries; support tax audits and lead internal reviews to secure favorable outcomes;
  • Actively participate in industry forums and associations — such as Sindusfarma — to follow regulatory trends and represent the company’s interests;
  • Lead, coach and develop the tax team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on wellbeing, performance and continuous learning;
  • Build partnerships with internal stakeholders, the parent company/headquarters, auditors and external consultants to ensure consistent and effective tax management across the organization.

Requirements

  • University degree (completed);
  • Postgraduate degree or MBA in management, tax planning or business-related fields is desirable;
  • Fluent English;
  • Knowledge of SAP;
  • Experience with Brazilian tax legislation and technical tax requirements;
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
