About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the budget, forecast, reforecast and commercial scenario review cycles;
  • Build and cascade sales, net revenue, margin, contribution, inventory, demand and assortment plans;
  • Calculate assortment needs by category, department, brand, price range, business model and commercial period;
  • Size the required number of SKUs, options, inventory depth and coverage to support sales and margin targets;
  • Assess assortment efficiency, considering productivity per SKU, sales per option, coverage, availability, sell-through, aging, sales concentration and profitability;
  • Identify excesses, gaps and overlaps in the catalog, recommending product and brand introductions, replenishments, reductions or removals;
  • Support the development of an assortment architecture balanced across breadth, depth, novelty, recurrence, price and profitability;
  • Ensure catalog growth is supported by demand, productivity and economic return;
  • Develop scenarios and simulations to evaluate the impact of assortment changes on sales, margin, inventory and invested capital;
  • Coordinate demand planning, purchasing, receipts and inventory processes;
  • Support the definition and monitoring of Open to Buy (OTB);
  • Ensure consistency between commercial planning, financial objectives and the company P&L;
  • Coordinate performance monitoring routines, evaluating results versus budget, forecast, prior year and recent trends;
  • Identify main deviations in results, structuring diagnostics, recommendations and action plans;
  • Monitor availability, coverage, turnover, aging, stockouts, excess inventory and needs for replenishment or inventory reduction;
  • Evaluate performance by category, department, brand, channel and business model;
  • Translate the commercial calendar and key retail events into sales, margin, assortment, inventory, purchasing and receipts plans;
  • Partner with RGM to identify opportunities for pricing, discounting, margin and profitability;
  • Support Commercial and Purchasing teams in setting targets, prioritizing categories and brands, planning purchases, assortment, receipts and inventory management;
  • Work closely with Merchandising to prioritize and present the assortment, taking into account commercial relevance, productivity and availability;
  • Lead short-term planning routines, including S&OE forums;
  • Participate in S&OP cycles, connecting commercial, financial, operational, demand and assortment perspectives;
  • Develop dashboards, executive reports and monitoring and alert mechanisms;
  • Prepare materials for leadership forums, presenting results, risks, opportunities, scenarios and required decisions;
  • Ensure discipline in plan execution and follow up on the implementation of agreed actions;
  • Lead, develop and coach the Commercial Planning team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields;
  • Solid experience in Commercial Planning, Merchandising Planning, Demand Planning, Financial Planning, Pricing, Revenue Management or related areas;
  • Experience sizing, managing and analyzing assortment productivity;
  • Knowledge of assortment architecture, breadth, depth, coverage, productivity per SKU and sell-through;
  • Experience building and managing budgets, forecasts and performance tracking;
  • Knowledge of sales, margin, inventory, demand and profitability metrics;
  • Ability to analyze the P&L and understand the financial impacts of commercial decisions;
  • Experience in inventory management, coverage, turnover, aging, sell-through and Open to Buy;
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills;
  • Experience with data and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI;
  • Experience managing and developing teams;
  • Nice to have: Experience in fashion retail, e-commerce or marketplace;
  • Experience with assortment planning and collection planning;
  • Knowledge of S&OP and S&OE processes;
  • Experience in environments with Retail and Marketplace business models;
  • Knowledge of SQL or data query/manipulation tools;
  • Intermediate or advanced English.
