About the role

  • Responsible for reviewing complex expenditure reports as part of various funding programmes
  • Advising intermediary recipients on the correct preparation of expenditure reports
  • Calculating recoveries, including any applicable interest
  • Initiating dunning procedures or payment reminders
  • Preparing well-founded audit reports and result memos to support decision-making
  • Regular communication with intermediary recipients as well as the relevant specialist, policy and legal units
  • Supporting the preparation of internal reporting
  • Compiling relevant statistical data

Requirements

  • Completed university degree (e.g. Bachelor's) in a relevant field or completion of the Verwaltungslehrgang II (administrative training)
  • Strong knowledge of public budgetary law, particularly grant/subsidy law
  • Strong numerical skills and confidence in handling finance-related processes
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Good experience with databases and document management systems
  • Good command of English, spoken and written (B2)
  • Ability to systematically review complex and extensive documentation
  • Analytical thinking and a structured approach to work
  • Resilience, reliability, organisational skills and ability to work in a team
  • Basic knowledge of interest law and recovery calculations is desirable
  • SAP experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of the German higher-education system is desirable
