About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell boiler service agreements, maintenance contracts, repairs, and capital projects to industrial, commercial, and institutional customers across the territory.
  • Develop new accounts through prospecting, referrals, and industry networking, while expanding service and project revenue within existing accounts.
  • Build relationships with the people who own boiler room decisions — plant engineers, maintenance managers, facility directors, and procurement.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs to understand each customer’s systems, identify service and upgrade opportunities, and gather the information needed to scope work accurately.
  • Partner with the service and engineering team to develop proposals, estimates, and project scopes; present pricing and technical solutions that win the work and protect margin.
  • Manage a pipeline with discipline — forecast accurately, keep the CRM current, and move opportunities from lead to booked revenue.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and in the field as a knowledgeable, trusted resource in the boiler room.
  • Hand off sold work cleanly to the service and project teams and stay engaged to keep the customer relationship strong.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A track record in technical or industrial sales — selling service, equipment, or projects into industrial, commercial, or institutional accounts.
  • Familiarity with boilers, mechanical systems, HVAC, combustion, or a closely related industrial equipment category; enough technical fluency to hold a credible conversation with a plant engineer.
  • Comfort selling both recurring service agreements and longer-cycle capital projects, and the discipline to keep both moving at once.
  • Strong prospecting and business development instincts — a genuine hunter who can also nurture and grow existing accounts.
  • Consultative selling skills: the ability to diagnose a need, scope a solution with a technical team, and present value rather than price.
  • CRM discipline and accurate pipeline forecasting.
  • Valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel throughout the territory.
