About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, upgrade, and commission DC power systems and equipment.
- Install and terminate DC power cabling according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform battery installations, battery replacements, and preventive maintenance.
- Install and configure rectifiers, inverters, power distribution equipment, and associated DC systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and system verification prior to commissioning.
- Ensure all work complies with company, customer, and industry safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation, job reports, and material usage.
- Work closely with project managers, customers, and field teams to complete projects safely and on schedule.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the Northeast as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience installing or maintaining DC power systems or telecom power infrastructure.
- Experience working with battery plants, rectifiers, inverters, and DC distribution systems.
- Familiarity with telecommunications, data center, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment and standard hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NFPA 70E
- CPR / First Aid
- Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on project schedules.
