About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, referrals, and jobsite visits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with electrical contractors, consulting engineers, general contractors, facility managers, and commercial property owners.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend commercial standby generator systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and related backup power solutions.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and solution recommendations.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities using CRM software.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within the backup power industry.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and managing customer relationships.
  • Experience selling to electrical contractors, commercial contractors, industrial customers, or within the construction industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:
  • - Commercial generators
  • - Electrical distribution
  • - Switchgear
  • - Power distribution
  • - Industrial equipment
  • - HVAC
  • - Building automation
  • - Construction products or services
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
