About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and other engineers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solutions
Architect and build efficient, reliable, and maintainable systems from concept to production
Design and build the tooling and core software needed for the development and operation of our quantum processors
Design and implement user interfaces using modern front-end technologies
Write clean, well-documented code, and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability
Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or higher in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, math, or physics
5+ years of hands-on full stack software development experience
Strong Python experience and experience in another high-level language such as Go, C++, or Java
Proficient in front-end technologies and modern frameworks such as Vue.js or React
Competence with cloud platforms specifically AWS
Proficiency in database systems and SQL, with hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Competence with Git version control, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines
Use of software testing principles and practices including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing
Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
