About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the global strategic subject-matter expert for customs and excise tax matters
  • Ensure worldwide compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and publish global guidelines for excise tax treatment
  • Initiate and lead strategic projects to achieve accurate and automated customs clearance
  • Take responsibility for the global implementation and further development of systems supporting excise tax processes
  • Manage global customs and tax functions and establish consistent standards
  • Continuously optimize system processes to maintain customs compliance
  • Analyze company-wide processes for their relevance to excise tax
  • Design and implement training programs for international teams
  • Collaborate with trade associations and internal stakeholders to monitor and identify regulatory developments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant professional experience in a legal, logistics, or manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of excise tax and customs law, or willingness to acquire this expertise
  • Experience in global project management
  • Proven ability to handle cross-site and cross-border issues
  • Strategic, proactive, and analytical approach to work
  • Experience in process management and in developing and enforcing global policies
  • Strong communication skills in German and English
