Key responsibilities & impact

Driving a human-centric approach to service delivery, focusing on understanding customer, business, and technology needs and balancing these to deliver effective digital services.
Delivering intuitive, fit for purpose interfaces through a lean design process involving rapid prototyping, testing, and implementation of solutions.
Working closely with others in the team to define user-centric designs, iterate and improve to add additional value, based on user feedback.
Being responsible for user-focused UI designs and specification of user flows, prototypes, high-fidelity interfaces.
Planning and performing user experience evaluation to check and confirm that usability and accessibility requirements have been met.
Implementing UI component using HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
Advocating and problem solving for user-centric design solutions with developers and coaching back-end engineers on usability and front-end development.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces working within to an existing style guide and/or design system using HTML, CSS, and Javascript framework such as ReactJS, and/or Angular.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders, and clearly articulate design decisions through a well-conceived rationale.
Demonstrated experience in working with others to translate findings from usability testing into actionable improvements to a user interface.
Knowledge and implementation of Accessibility requirements - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA as a minimum.
Demonstrated experience designing wireframes, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes with a high attention to detail and ability to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate designs.
Tertiary Qualifications in a design or computer science/ICT related discipline (Human Factors, Communication/Graphic Design, Systems Design, Psychology, Computer Interaction, Web development etc.)
