About the role

  • Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities within the pavement management, roadway condition assessment, and transportation infrastructure market segments.
  • Present and demonstrate Cyclomedia’s pavement solutions, including automated distress detection, PCI scoring, LiDAR-based roadway measurements, and integrated geospatial tools, to both technical and executive-level government stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a strong, healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities; manage all stages of the public-sector sales cycle, including prospecting, needs assessment, RFP/RFQ responses, procurement navigation, negotiation, and close.
  • Develop a strong understanding of pavement management practices, including pavement preservation strategies, condition indexing, network-level assessments, and how agencies use data to plan maintenance and capital programs.
  • Monitor and leverage state and federal funding programs (e.g., IIJA/BIL, transportation grants) that support roadway and pavement initiatives to help agencies align projects and budgets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams—including Solutions Engineering, Product, Delivery, and Marketing—to tailor proposals, pricing, SOWs, and customer demonstrations to each agency’s pavement needs.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of go-to-market strategies for the Pavement business line, providing field insights on customer use cases, competition, and trends in transportation asset management.
  • Represent Cyclomedia at pavement and transportation conferences, trade shows, and industry events (e.g., APWA, Transportation Research Board, state DOT events), building brand awareness and expanding our network within the government sector.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, notes, and opportunity management using the CRM system.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business-to-government sales experience in GIS, asset management, or related technology fields.
  • Proven success selling to state and local agencies, with experience in transportation, public works, or pavement management strongly preferred.

  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and drive results in a new or evolving product area.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for leveraging technology to improve infrastructure, safety, and community outcomes.
