About the role

  • Drive and advance a unified, enterprise-wide interoperability strategy across all Aetna business lines
  • Synthesize and govern enterprise interoperability and platform roadmaps, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for convergence
  • Serve as the executive convener aligning senior leaders across technology, product, operations, quality, revenue integrity, and lines of business
  • Advise enterprise leadership on the intersection of interoperability standards, policy, technology, and business strategy
  • Represent Aetna’s interoperability strategy across the CVS Health enterprise and externally with providers, vendors, and industry bodies
  • Guide long-term planning while ensuring near-term regulatory and operational commitments are met
  • Influence capital allocation, investment prioritization, and portfolio optimization related to interoperability initiatives
  • Champion executive-level storytelling, translating complex strategies into clear, decision-oriented narratives
  • Support and lead governance processes to ensure strategy is executed, measured, and value is realized
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in U.S. healthcare technology or interoperability
  • Demonstrated executive accountability for enterprise-scale strategy and transformation
  • Deep expertise in interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, X12, and NCPDP
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in large, matrixed organizations
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including portfolio and investment decision-making
  • Deep understanding of payer and provider workflows and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with pragmatic execution
