About the role
- Drive and advance a unified, enterprise-wide interoperability strategy across all Aetna business lines
- Synthesize and govern enterprise interoperability and platform roadmaps, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for convergence
- Serve as the executive convener aligning senior leaders across technology, product, operations, quality, revenue integrity, and lines of business
- Advise enterprise leadership on the intersection of interoperability standards, policy, technology, and business strategy
- Represent Aetna’s interoperability strategy across the CVS Health enterprise and externally with providers, vendors, and industry bodies
- Guide long-term planning while ensuring near-term regulatory and operational commitments are met
- Influence capital allocation, investment prioritization, and portfolio optimization related to interoperability initiatives
- Champion executive-level storytelling, translating complex strategies into clear, decision-oriented narratives
- Support and lead governance processes to ensure strategy is executed, measured, and value is realized
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in U.S. healthcare technology or interoperability
- Demonstrated executive accountability for enterprise-scale strategy and transformation
- Deep expertise in interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, X12, and NCPDP
- Proven ability to lead through influence in large, matrixed organizations
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business and financial acumen, including portfolio and investment decision-making
- Deep understanding of payer and provider workflows and regulatory requirements
- Ability to balance long-term vision with pragmatic execution
