About the role

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring all activities and client interactions are accurately recorded
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across focus industries using market insights and a value-based approach
  • Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing clients and suppliers, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Represent Customs Support Group at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and overseas offices to generate and share sales leads
  • Present pipeline progress and sales activities to management using Salesforce dashboards and reporting tools
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to drive strategic growth
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and propose tailored customs solutions based on customer requirements
  • Travel across the UK to meet clients, attend events, and support business development activities

Requirements

  • Valid driving licence (travel will be required)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in business development, account management, major account management, or similar commercial roles
  • Proven track record in sales with a strong commercial mindset
  • History of new business development and converting opportunities
  • Self-confident and able to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Desirable: previous experience in logistics
  • Desirable: Major Account and Key Account Management experience
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the UK customs brokerage and duty management services market
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Salesforce / CRM and maintaining sales pipelines
  • Ability to identify market leads and convert them into business opportunities
  • Effective communication and people skills
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative-taking and confident
  • Completes personal goals (agreed with line manager)
