About the role
- Building and maintaining customer relationships: Work closely with new and existing customers through online messaging.
- Manage ongoing relationships with existing customers and support on their future projects
- Sharing design and material expertise: Understand key customer preferences to bring their design ideas to life
- Make thoughtful design and material recommendations that align with the customer’s priorities
- Coordinate with our technical teams to successfully translate the customer’s vision into a manufacturable design
- Present concept sketches and 3D renderings to customers, answering questions and receiving feedback for subsequent revisions
- Communicate design revisions to our CAD designers and concept sketch artists
- Share and discuss diamond or gem options
- Managing the overall success of your projects: Approach each project individually to make the design and development process fun and easy for the customer based on their needs and working style
- Create and present quotes for customers that fit their budget and design requirements
- Plan and manage project timelines with consideration of sketch, CAD, and manufacturing to ensure deadlines are met
- Handle all post-production related correspondence, including resizing, repairs, maintenance, and customer satisfaction.
- Contributing to internal development: Review communication techniques, technical guidance, and project strategy feedback with your manager
- Experiment with new approaches and resources with the guidance of your manager
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other Project Managers and cross functional partners
Requirements
- Excellent written communication skills
- Client-facing experience in sales, hospitality, luxury retail, or account management
- A passion for jewelry and design and an interest in the creative development process
- Discerning visual taste
- Resourcefulness - the ability to make good decisions in the absence of perfect information
- Preferred but not required: A track record of achieving strong sales results
- Experience in fine jewelry sales
- Technical experience as a jewelry designer, bench jeweler, or artist
- Graduate Gemologist degree or previous Gemological Institute of America (GIA) course work
- Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college/university
