About the role
- Serve as technical resource and product expert supporting Account Executives and Sales Enablement to close premium deals
- Assist Account Executives with technical pre-sales calls, emails, and thought leadership
- Build and document proofs of concepts in the Customer.io platform for customer use cases
- Articulate and present ideas and recommendations to prospective customers via written and video formats
- Deliver custom solutions for integrations and core use cases and answer technical questions on the frontline
- Advocate for qualified leads and ensure a smooth transition from pre-sale to post-sale working with Customer Success
- Contribute to improvements of Sales-owned demo account(s) to meet strategic objectives
- Create collateral, documentation, and other technical sales materials as needed
- Spend ~75% of time working on deals and ~25% creating collateral and documentation for the team
Requirements
- Baseline Requirement: 2+ years of experience in roles that require technical expertise, customer interaction, and problem-solving skills
- Sales Experience: Background in sales with demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to learn and convey complex technical concepts
- Marketing Automation: Experience working with marketing automation platforms, preferably within a SaaS environment
- Hybrid Experience: Combination of technical knowledge, customer interaction skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Availability to support typical working hours (around 8 am to 5 pm) within EST or GMT-5
- Ability to communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical prospects (verbal and written)
- Initiative to research, plan, and execute projects from start to completion
- Strategic decision-making ability that is thoughtful and empathetic
- Understanding of sales processes and awareness of sales strategy
- Experience working for a SaaS company or with a marketing automation platform
- A basic understanding of Computer Science Principles
- Familiarity with NoSQL data structures and RESTful applications
- Experience working with templating languages like Liquid, Handlebars, or Jinja
