About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist managers, technicians, and customers in identifying required parts and accessories by researching heavy- and light-duty trucks, truck bodies, and aerial equipment.
  • Quote, order, and stock parts to support service repair orders and retail sales while meeting cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Professionally handle parts inquiries and sales via phone, email, walk-in traffic, and remote communication channels.
  • Provide remote parts support to other facilities through email, phone calls, Microsoft Teams, and text messages, including interbranch requests and parts research.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of parts associated with assigned product lines and remain current on new products and updates.
  • Determine part availability, pricing, and delivery timelines; proactively communicate delays or backorders.
  • Create and maintain accurate parts numbers, supplier records, and the parts master file.
  • Research, evaluate, and build relationships with OEM and aftermarket suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service, and reliability.
  • Verify correct parts application to each repair order and ensure proper documentation.
  • Create customer orders and purchase orders as required.
  • Monitor incoming parts and follow up on backordered or delayed items to meet repair and customer commitments.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and year-end inventory activities.
  • Support sales, margin, and profitability objectives through accurate quoting and efficient purchasing decisions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience in parts purchasing, parts sales, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of heavy- and light-duty trucks and equipment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and deadline-driven with a strong attendance record.
  • Proficient with computers and able to quickly learn new systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong customer service orientation with professional communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate information from manuals, procedures, and work-related documents.
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain a professional demeanor with customers and team members.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
