About the role

  • Provide critical operations leadership and technical oversight for assigned facilities including remote field offices
  • Ensure facilities are operated and maintained cost effectively, safely, efficiently and in first class condition
  • Ensure proper engineering procedures and standards are being practiced and maintained
  • Provide technical oversight for design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs per manufacturer recommendations and industry practices
  • Analyze equipment downtime ramifications and develop contingency plans for equipment failure
  • Supervise system overhauls or retrofits
  • Develop and oversee hazardous materials control policies and procedures
  • Ensure all critical and major technical work is carried out according to code and building standards and in compliance with client requirements
  • Review operations, maintenance and capital improvements of Life Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Recommend and implement critical systems policy and procedures including MOPs, SOPs and Change Management processes
  • Responsible to Facility Managers for budget control and forecasting of contracts and major operations related to critical operations
  • Review plans for adding or upgrading equipment, provide technical guidance, and oversee contracted labor and vendors
  • Provide leadership and management support to facility management and technicians for day-to-day operations
  • Support sites in the preparation, implementation, and remediation of resiliency, maintenance and operations, and environmental audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • Refrigeration, FE or PE license
  • Preferred 3-5 years’ experience and Working knowledge of lease terms, the reconciliation process for Common Area Maintenance, insurance, and real estate taxes
  • Proficient in understanding management agreements and contract language
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs and base building systems
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including but not limited to overnight travel, on call after hours and weekends
  • Must be able to travel 20-40% of the time
