About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the performance of relatively small to mid-sized projects or a definable portion of a larger program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core projects.
- Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
- Creates a method of change management including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc.
- May be responsible for project management tasks and development of standards and processes for scheduling, administration, and accounting.
- Responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposals.
- Manage, coordinate and control Project Work Plan execution to achieve project technical, cost and schedule objectives.
- Efficiently and effectively work towards goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple constraints.
- Lead the project team and regular project meetings to monitor and drive progress toward project objectives.
- Maintain effective customer communications, ensuring that all customer requirements and expectations are addressed effectively.
- Address and resolve project issues pertaining to project work scope, technical requirements, quality, schedule, resource assignments, cost customer interface and other project related activities.
- Communicate project progress, issues, and/or resolution options to project team members’ customers and EMD management.
- Review and control project cost, including the coordination and certification of Estimate at Complete dates.
- Develop and monitor the Project Risk Management Plan as part of project planning and execution.
- Interact with Sourcing and suppliers to plan for and secure the materials needed for the project and future production.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent with appropriate course complete to support a project management team.
- 3+ years' experience Project management or project leadership experience
- Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and procedures
- Project Management Professional Certification Preferred
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals.
