About the role
- Lead and own the development, implementation, and execution of product testing, test processes, and test facilities
- Support design of test facilities, cost estimation, working with contractors, facility maintenance and upgrades
- Development of test plans, specifications, and procedures to support design requirements
- Train and provide technical direction to operations personnel in execution of test programs
- Review and analyze test results
- Prepare reports and proposals
- Provide technical support for all aspects of the division's test facilities and programs
- Work on cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues
- Participate as a project team member (development or production order)
- Understand the customer's requirements for testing the product
- Interface effectively with internal customers (project team personnel)
- Work with and manage outside contractor support of test facilities
Requirements
- Minimum education is a Bachelor of Science Degree/Engineering
- 5+ years of experience involved with design, testing, or operation of rotating electrical equipment and/or medium voltage drives
- Working knowledge of instrumentation related to vibration, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic measurements related to product testing
- Experience managing outside contractors is preferred
- Experience with test facility construction and commissioning is preferred
- Ability to read and understand drawings and single line diagrams
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
