About the role
- Designs and analyzes electro-mechanical components and systems
- Develops drawings and specifications for new and modified designs
- Supports manufacturing and testing of electro-mechanical equipment
- Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs
- Develops design information for use in drawings and specifications
- Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment
- Assesses new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness
- Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results; conducts analysis and writes analysis and test reports
- Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results
- Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations
- Designs new equipment and machinery
- May assist in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities
- Determines maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety standards for current and new equipment to ensure equipment is operated, maintained, and serviced properly
- Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems
- Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advance degree a plus
- Minimum 2-10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products
- Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators and propulsors)
- GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, FEA methods
- Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews
- Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities
- Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
