Key responsibilities & impact
  • Designs and analyzes electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Develops drawings and specifications for new and modified designs
  • Supports manufacturing and testing of electro-mechanical equipment
  • Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Develops design information for use in drawings and specifications
  • Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment
  • Assesses new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness
  • Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results; conducts analysis and writes analysis and test reports
  • Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations
  • Designs new equipment and machinery
  • May assist in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities
  • Determines maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety standards for current and new equipment to ensure equipment is operated, maintained, and serviced properly
  • Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems
  • Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advance degree a plus
  • Minimum 2-10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products
  • Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators and propulsors)
  • GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, FEA methods
  • Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews
  • Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities
  • Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment
  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
