About the role
- Foster the growth and development of additive manufacturing at EMD.
- Evolve the processing, designing, qualification of AM components.
- Lead communications with project teams and respective customers.
- Work with project teams to understand needs and drive the execution of material qualifications and designs.
- Seek new advanced ways to improve and evolve additive manufacturing processes.
- Mentor and aid in the development of less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- A minimum of 15 years work experience in engineering support of heavy component manufacturing including joining and machining operations.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities with excellent communication.
- Relationships with external subject matter experts within the industry and customer base to support additive manufacturing implementation.
- Ability to lead a team of engineers towards the additive manufacturing strategic goals at EMD.
- Practical experience with various additive manufacturing processes parameters, material properties, qualification standards, and metallurgical analysis techniques.
- Goal-oriented, results driven, problem-solving attitude.
- Demonstrated project planning skills and understanding of cost and schedule implications.
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
