About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design process through all project phases, developing design solutions and documentation
- Lead small to medium-scale project scopes and manage small, multi-level teams
- Participate in forming high-performing teams alongside Project Managers
- Lead design development, coordination, and production efforts across projects
- Drive iterative, collaborative design processes aligned with project success metrics
- Lead client communication and manage expectations
- Develop and present interior design concepts and presentations
- Manage finish, material, lighting, and furniture selections
- Coordinate interiors with architecture and consultant disciplines
- Produce and review drawing sets, including redlines
- Ensure compliance with building codes and support permitting processes
- Participate in construction administration, including site visits, observations, submittals, RFIs, and field verification
- Identify project risks and escalate concerns
- Support project pursuits, proposals, interviews, and presentation preparation
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Encourage regenerative design thinking across built, social, and natural environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- NCIDQ Certification (or equivalent interior design certification) required
- 7+ years of professional interior design experience leading projects through all phases
- Multi-market experience in workplace, hospitality, themed entertainment and attraction, gaming, healthcare, education, civic, retail, mixed-use, or similar projects
- Strong Interior Architecture background preferred
- Experience across interior design and architectural documentation environments is a strong plus
- Proven experience producing and coordinating construction documents, including redline review and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of building codes and permitting processes related to interior projects
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to clients and leading design discussions
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM 360, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion is a plus
- Ability to lead confidently while remaining collaborative
- Ability to balance design vision with technical precision
- Ability to coordinate interiors and architecture while maintaining design intent
- Ability to communicate clearly and manage expectations
- Ability to mentor others and maintain high production standards
- Ability to stay organized in complex, multidisciplinary project environments
