About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by gathering input from subject matter experts (SMEs) and VPI teams to provide accurate product data and installation requirements to applications engineers and OEM partners.
  • Influence product performance and quality by making informed decisions on product selection, system design, and integration strategies tailored to OEM applications.
  • Improve engineering processes by applying and optimizing tools such as Installation Quality Assurance, COLS, Advisor, and GCE to support rigorous, data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted technical contact for OEM customers, managing specifications, resolving complex installation issues, and clearly communicating product updates.
  • Translate customer needs into engineering solutions to ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in product requirements and program decisions.
  • Ensure installation excellence by validating prototype performance and ensuring compliance with Cummins installation standards and environmental requirements.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by proposing customer-focused initiatives and applying ALD and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize product and system performance.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers by sharing expertise, coordinating technicians’ work, and contributing to the development of engineering capabilities within the team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) or eligibility to obtain it
  • Customer site visits (20–40% of the time) for meetings, troubleshooting, and installation reviews in the Pointe-Claire area
  • Hands-on technical work, including instrumentation installation, on-machine testing, and problem diagnostics
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, their components and subsystems, and operating principles
  • Self-motivated with initiative and strong problem-solving skills
  • Travel required for projects and meetings to the Pointe-Claire, QC branch
  • Occasional travel to the United States (1–2 weeks per year) for training and industry conferences
