About the role
- Participate within the product development team alongside mechanical, electrical & thermal engineers focusing on mechanical product design.
- Develop an understanding of fundamental structural design and product development cycle.
- Design components using CAD systems to meet technical requirements with a focus on low-cost, design for manufacture & assembly.
- Document design fundamentals and co-ordinate investigations on designs (vibration, crash, thermal loading, mechanical shock).
- Gain insight into the product design and development battery electric industry via component testing and prototype builds.
- Experience concept through to detail design and identify potential failure modes.
Requirements
- Studying for a technical degree in either Mechanical/Automotive/Design/Thermal Design or Electrical Engineering.
- Keen interest in electrification and Li-ion batteries.
- Excellent IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office, presentation, CAD systems and report writing skills.
- Willingness to defy the norm and constantly look for improvements.
