Participate within the product development team alongside mechanical, electrical & thermal engineers focusing on mechanical product design.
Develop an understanding of fundamental structural design and product development cycle.
Design components using CAD systems to meet technical requirements with a focus on low-cost, design for manufacture & assembly.
Document design fundamentals and co-ordinate investigations on designs (vibration, crash, thermal loading, mechanical shock).
Gain insight into the product design and development battery electric industry via component testing and prototype builds.
Experience concept through to detail design and identify potential failure modes.
Requirements
Studying for a technical degree in either Mechanical/Automotive/Design/Thermal Design or Electrical Engineering.
Keen interest in electrification and Li-ion batteries.
Excellent IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office, presentation, CAD systems and report writing skills.
Willingness to defy the norm and constantly look for improvements.
