About the role

  • Handle inbound prospect calls and convert them into sales to drive revenue and achieve margin targets
  • Develop opportunities and generate leads via telephone, other technologies, and cold-calling to expand customer base
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through the Cummins Sales Process and build/maintain customer relationships
  • Assist salesforce with quotation/RFP management and other sales cycle operations
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer transaction issues to ensure smooth operations
  • Enter new customer data and update existing accounts in corporate database; maintain accurate sales entry, reporting, and forecasting
  • Seek process improvements using Cummins tools to grow business and increase customer value
  • Coordinate communication across account management, field service, sales management, and other departments
  • Review project specifications and develop proposals for equipment and services meeting project requirements
  • Maintain technical knowledge of Cummins Power Generation products and obtain applicable certifications
  • Obtain buyout quotations from outside suppliers and maintain electronic bid board

Requirements

  • Advanced certificates or college degree in Sales or Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
  • Limited prior experience required
  • Experience as a quote analyst or another sales support function desirable
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software desirable
  • Experience with other software-based sales and business tools desirable
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Strong communication, persuasion, planning, and account planning skills
  • Ability to develop pricing strategies, sales forecasting, and sales pipeline management
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and articulate value propositions
  • Channel awareness and sense-making skills
