About the role
- Manage, develop, and implement programs for New Product Introduction composed of multiple cross-functional projects
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Plant to ensure project and production readiness on the Manufacturing site
- Manage multiple VPI programs as Manufacturing core team member and engage with Plant Manufacturing Engineer and Supply Chain to support VPI & NBS project deliverables
- Define manufacturing and maintenance processes; design manufacturing equipment; order equipment; manage equipment build, installation, and validation to ensure production readiness
- Manage and execute the manufacturing functional lane requirements, meeting VPI & NBS deliverables on schedule and within budget and present work progress at Functional Reviews
- Lead project management activities for the Manufacturing functional area including coordinating, prioritizing, negotiating, and managing execution of all assigned projects and contracts
- Lead analysis, project identification, budget, communication and integration for manufacturing projects and collaborate with business management to identify short and long-term projects
- Perform feasibility needs analysis to determine project timelines and approve business workflow and project design
- Assess business needs, Project Manager capabilities and available project budgets; help Project Managers assess project risk and coach in alternatives, solutions, and change management
- Ensure Project Managers leverage cross-functional and external resources; partner with key business stakeholders to ensure successful project completion
- Facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine scope and objectives; establish performance goals, design project plans, develop timelines, identify milestones, and track performance
- Identify, track, and work with others to resolve project issues; monitor and communicate project status to the project team
- Plan and monitor project budget and Capital Management for the project
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as an Industrial, Manufacturing or Quality Engineer, Project Manager or related position
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as an Industrial, Manufacturing or Quality Engineer, Project Manager or related position
- Experience with New Product Introduction
- Experience with VPI & NBS project deliverables
- Ability to define manufacturing and maintenance processes and ensure production readiness
- Experience designing manufacturing equipment, ordering equipment, managing equipment build process, installation, and validation
- Experience managing manufacturing functional lane requirements
- Ability to perform feasibility needs analysis to determine project timelines
- Ability to assess project risk through use of quality tools and coach Project Managers in alternatives, solutions, and change management approaches
- Experience facilitating project planning sessions, establishing project performance goals, designing project plans, developing timelines, and identifying milestones
- Experience identifying, tracking, and resolving project issues and monitoring/communicating project status
- Experience planning and monitoring project budgets and Capital Management
- Ability to collaborate with Plant Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain, cross-functional resources, and business stakeholders
- Willingness/ability to work in Columbus, IN and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
