About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • This role directs all contracting actions to win, negotiate, administer and close contracts geographically located and/or managed in the APAC region and the Global ground/range combat training on behalf of Cubic and their affiliates.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contractual terms and conditions for assigned contracts.
  • Manages complex, major systems (and services) prime contracts and related subcontracts to ensure that all requirements and obligations are fulfilled.
  • Contributes to setting department goals and objectives and works with department personnel in carrying out and measuring activities in support of these goals and objectives.
  • Ensures Cubic continues to manage its contractual obligations (internal and external) and keep management informed regarding performance under assigned Contracts/Subcontracts.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) is a must.
  • 12+ years-experience in contracts and subcontracts management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in Contract Management for high-value contracts for highly complex products and systems, which include development, service agreements, hardware and software installation and maintenance agreements etc., for both commercial and government agency customers.
  • Thorough knowledge of prime/subcontract formation and management activities, and proven ability to effectively negotiate complex terms, conditions and price involving major systems.
  • Ability to provide workable solutions to address a wide variety of contractual challenges.
  • Must be able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, working extended hours, as required.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and understand business priorities and requirements.
  • Ability to provide sound and strategic contractual and commercial advice.
  • High-level negotiation, contracts and subcontract management experience.
  • Sound financial management and document generation and control skills.
  • Demonstrated people management abilities, supporting and promoting a collaborative and cohesive Defence Contracts management team.
