Articulate lessons learned from personal life experiences parenting a child/youth with social/emotional or behavioral challenges as a Family Partner
Collaborate with child and family serving systems and family and youth organizations to improve family outcomes and reduce stigma and discrimination
Travel to clinic in Hickory, NC occasionally
Work one-on-one and maintain regular contact with parent(s)/caregiver(s) to provide information and support throughout the care planning process
Attend Child and Family Team meetings and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as requested by family and assist parents/caregivers in articulating youth’s/family’s strengths, needs, and goals
Educate and empower parents/caregivers about navigating child-serving systems and available informal/community resources; facilitate access to these resources
Attend weekly supervision to monitor adherence to HFW principles
Complete required Federal and State background checks and maintain confidentiality
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile with proof of insurance
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Human Services) — must possess degree at time of application OR
Associate’s Degree in a related field (Human Services) — must possess degree at time of application OR
High School diploma or GED at time of application
Bachelor’s applicants: Must have one-year, post-graduation, working with target population
Associate’s applicants: Must have two years, post-graduation, working children/adolescents/transition age youth
High School applicants: Minimum of four years of experience working children/adolescents/transition age youth
Minimum of one-year experience providing services with children/adolescents/transition age youth
Must have lived experience as a primary caregiver for a child who has/had mental health or substance abuse challenges
Experience navigating child and family serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care, etc.)
Holds National Certification in Family Peer Support or actively working on certification and on track to complete within one year of hire
Possess a current, valid driver’s license and automobile with proof of auto insurance
Will complete all appropriate Federal and State background checks
Will maintain strict confidentiality according to all Federal and State guidelines and requirements
