About the role
- Overall responsibility for Human Resources in Europe (> 4,000 employees, 12 countries) reporting to the European CEO
- Direct leadership of the local HQ HR team and functional leadership of the HR managers at European sites
- Derive the HR strategy from company, business unit and regional objectives
- Ensure an efficient HR strategy within a European matrix organization
- Align HR strategy and activities with the requirements of the US corporate owner
- Advise the European management team and the European branches on HR-related matters
- Collaborate with employee representative bodies (works council, trade unions)
- Responsible for the corporate HR budget
- Develop European HR policies and guidelines
- Further develop HR structures, processes and KPIs
- Advance and digitalize HR processes
- Support the organizational development of the company
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources or a similar degree with HR content
- At least 8 years of HR experience with several years in leadership positions
- Deep knowledge of employment, collective bargaining and tax law frameworks
- Experience collaborating with employee representative bodies
- Solid expertise in HR processes and a strong interest in people leadership and the development of HR topics
- Confident communication and leadership skills with a professional presence at all hierarchical levels, and a pragmatic, hands-on working style
- Business-fluent German and English
