About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the execution link between product strategy and data engineering delivery
Translate requirements into well-defined user stories
Guide the team through each sprint from refinement to release
Develop a working understanding of the data platform architecture and governance frameworks
Translate product and business requirements into well-scoped Epics and User Stories
Lead sprint planning and refinement sessions
Collaborate with technical leads to ensure solutions meet platform standards
Write SQL queries and data transformation scripts to validate data
Create clear acceptance criteria for QA
Define and maintain data quality standards and governance policies
Monitor data quality across ingestion and modeling pipelines
Work with Design on user flows for products
Produce business and technical documentation for stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related technical field
3 - 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a data-focused, software development environment
SQL proficiency, including writing queries, interpreting transformation logic, and validating data
Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
Experience with data governance concepts in practice, including data quality frameworks, data lineage, and data catalog tooling
Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns — data lakehouse, data mesh, ELT pipelines
Experience managing a product backlog and driving sprint planning and refinement in an Agile environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
