About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist dispensing and fill stock replacements
- Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with pharmacist guidance
- Order, receive, maintain, and secure drug and chemical inventory
- Maintain an orderly and clean pharmacy environment
- Enter prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements into the computer system
- Remove unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepare them for return or disposal under pharmacist direction
- Perform general clerical duties for the department
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- Provide professional, responsive, and communicative customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course or a minimum of one year of on-the-job training
- State licensing, as required
- National certification preferred but not required
- Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to multi-task and frequently change direction
- Highly proficient computer and email skills
- Customer service experience with internal and external customers
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of office policies and procedures
- Time management skills
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
