About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide in-home infusion therapy with regular travel to and from patient residences
- Administer specialty medications intravenously, subcutaneously, or through other appropriate routes
- Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications
- Conduct pre-treatment assessments and monitor physical condition and vital signs
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, treatment expectations, and emergency procedures
- Conduct follow-up calls or visits and assess patient progress and delayed side effects
- Provide clinical feedback and collaborate on care plan adjustments
- Maintain accurate documentation of infusion procedures, patient responses, adverse events, medication administration, education, and follow-up
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy staff to coordinate patient care
- Communicate treatment concerns and patient responses to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor
- Prepare and handle medications using safety, sterile-technique, and infection-control protocols
- Verify medication and dosage accuracy
- Monitor specialty medication and infusion-supply inventory and support replenishment
- Support insurance verification and prior authorization processes
- IgCN-certified nurses may mentor staff, support training, observe clinical practice, and document competency assessments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
- College degree/certification required or equivalent experience
- 2 years of RN experience required
- 1 year of experience accessing PIV lines and ports and maintaining PICC lines required
- 1 year of ER/ICU/infusion experience preferred
- 1 year of infusion experience in a hospital or home health setting preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Automobile insurance coverage required
- Reliable automobile required
- Ability to multitask and frequently change direction
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
- Active IgCN certification may be required for participation in the Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program
