About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as people manager for approximately 15–20 engineers across 2–3 Scrum teams.
- Be accountable for delivery outcomes across 2–3 Scrum teams within a release train.
- Own and continuously improve engineering practices and standards across four core practices.
- Promote responsible, human-in-the-loop use of AI tools for coding, testing, analysis, and documentation.
- Shape team composition across 2–3 Scrum teams to optimise skills, experience, and resilience to attrition.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years in software engineering roles (Developer, SDET, or similar).
- 3+ years in a people-leadership role (Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or equivalent), ideally leading multiple Agile teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe (Scrum, PI planning, ARTs, RTE, SM, PO roles).
- Proven experience implementing and improving engineering practices (coding standards, testing, CI/CD, documentation).
- Experience managing risks and issues in complex, distributed programs and leading and developing engineers across locations.
- Excellent communication skills in formal business English, with the ability to operate across time zones and cultures.
