• The Operational Engineer I is responsible for partnering closely with the Software Development teams to ensure software output is operationally sound before releasing the software into a production environment.
• Prepare software for installation by running diagnostic tests and monitoring/configuring the software as needed during the testing cycle.
• Ensure all systems and equipment are running efficiently, effectively, and safely to support the organization's objectives.
• Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize F5 LTM/GTM appliances and related software systems to ensure consistent reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
• Analyze system and traffic performance data to identify trends and recommend infrastructure or configuration improvements.
• Develop, maintain, and deploy automation scripts and tools to streamline operational workflows.
• Identify gaps or inefficiencies in processes and design creative solutions to drive operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with application, network, and platform teams on installation, configuration, upgrades, and day-to-day operation of business-critical applications.
• Participate in capacity planning and scaling activities to meet growing business demands.
• Mentor and train junior operational engineers, sharing best practices and encouraging them to adopt a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to system configurations, operational procedures, and incident resolution.
