About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Under minimal supervision, perform in-depth technical reviews of civil engineering plans, including grading and drainage, stormwater management, roadway design, and public utility systems.
- Under minimal supervision, review technical reports, such as hydrology and hydraulic analyses, sewer studies, and stormwater quality management plans for compliance with agency standards and governing regulations.
- Prepare plan “redlines” using Bluebeam Revu and written engineering review comments.
- Coordinate directly with developers, consultants, and city staff when necessary.
- Keeps informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Work closely with jurisdiction staff, developers, and design consultants.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of progressive engineering experience in Land Development.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Current California Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineer License is highly desired.
- Well versed in the principles and practices of engineering and applicable laws and codes related to Land Development projects with a high level of independent judgement.
- Proficiency with electronic plan review systems and information sharing or communication platforms such as Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft OneDrive & Teams.
- Familiarity with public agency municipal codes and design standards.
- Familiarity with the land development process, from entitlement to issuance of building permits.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
