About the role
- Lead the retail visual and marketing calendar, aligning with Marketing, Creative, and Product teams around key brand and business priorities — and translate those strategies into clear, actionable visual plans for stores.
- Partner with Creative and Design teams to brief, concept, and review seasonal visual packages and in-store assets that are brand-right, seasonally relevant, and commercially focused.
- Own the concept and content calendar for retail marketing emails, ensuring alignment with floor sets, product priorities, and in-store storytelling.
- Serve as the primary visual merchandising partner to store and field leaders, supporting product placement, shop layouts, and display execution to drive sales and protect brand standards.
- Own and distribute a weekly retail visual newsletter and regular toolkits that guide stores on upcoming floor sets, campaigns, and visual priorities.
- Lead new store openings, remodels, seasonal floor-set prototypes, and store walkthroughs — overseeing all signage, collateral production, and supplies to ensure consistent execution across all locations.
- Manage the visual merchandising budget for signage, fixtures, props, and collateral, recommending solutions that balance brand impact with cost efficiency.
- Use AI content, copy, and image tools (such as Claude, Adobe Firefly, or Canva AI) to accelerate briefing, newsletter creation, visual concepting, and workflow management — and actively identify new tools and workflows to raise team output and share learnings across Creative and Marketing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on multi-store retail visual experience.
- Proven track record concepting and executing visually compelling, brand-right displays and in-store experiences that drive sell-through, with prior experience supporting visual merchandising across multiple stores or regions.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, and Field teams to bring a visual strategy to life; background in outdoor, action sports, or lifestyle retail preferred.
- Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite; proficiency in Canva, AI design tools, or equivalent platforms is highly valued.
- Comfort using AI writing and productivity tools in daily workflows — you don't need to be a prompt engineer, but you should be curious and willing to experiment.
- Excellent communicator: clear in writing, confident with visual feedback, and effective with both field teams and senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities simultaneously without dropping the details.
- A builder's mindset — you thrive with real ownership, move between big-picture planning and floor-level execution, and embrace technology as a force multiplier, not a threat to craft.
