Provide end-to-end legal support for Crypto.com’s EEA operations, advising on product, regulatory, and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions;
Partner with Compliance, Product, Operations, and Risk to enable compliant, scalable growth under evolving EU/EEA frameworks;
Advise on EU/EEA regulatory regimes impacting crypto and digital finance, including MiCA, PSD2, the EU Transfer of Funds/Travel Rule, AML/CFT, DORA and marketing rules;
Support licensing, registrations, supervisory interactions, and regulatory change projects; draft submissions and respond to regulator RFIs;
Provide product counseling for exchange, wallet, staking/rewards, payments/card, and institutional offerings; review UX, disclosures, and terms;
Manage cross-border legal risk, horizon scanning, and implementation of EU guidance (ESMA/EBA) and NCA expectations;
Contribute to internal controls, audits, and board/management reporting.
Requirements
Qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with strong academic credentials;
5+ years PQE in top-tier law firms and/or in-house fintech/financial services/crypto;
Deep knowledge of EU financial and digital-asset regulation: MiCA, PSD2, AML/CFT, Travel Rule, consumer/marketing rules; working familiarity with DORA, DAC8/CARF and GDPR;
Experience interfacing with EU regulators and managing multi-jurisdictional projects;
Strong commercial contracting skills and clear, practical risk-based advice;
Excellent English (written and spoken); additional EU language(s) a plus;
Comfortable in fast-paced, international environments; strong ownership and collaboration;
Nice to Have: Experience with investment services, custody, market integrity frameworks, and operational resilience;
Nice to Have: Knowledge of blockchain technology, tokenomics, and DeFi;
Nice to Have: Prior experience at a crypto exchange, broker, or EMI.
