About the role
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, quantify, and secure tax credits and incentives (e.g., data center sales tax exemptions, property tax abatement agreements)
- Manage and review the preparation and filing of various indirect tax returns and tax incentives
- Work closely with internal departments and external partners to gather necessary information and support for indirect taxes and tax incentives
- Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities during audits, providing audit documentation packages and explanations
- Develop and improve internal processes for identifying, tracking, and claiming tax credits to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Research and monitor current tax landscape changes in operating jurisdiction
- Provide leadership and oversight for indirect tax projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of indirect tax experience
- Previous supervisory or project management experience
- Master's degree or J.D. preferred
- Experience with data centers (bonus/preferred)
- Experience identifying, quantifying, and securing tax credits and incentives
- Experience managing and reviewing preparation and filing of indirect tax returns and tax incentives
- Ability to act as primary point of contact for tax authorities during audits
- Experience developing and improving processes for tracking and claiming tax credits
- Tax research and monitoring changes in operating jurisdictions
