About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with Underwriters to establish support needs for renewals and/or new business policies
- Identify and gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind policies
- Create exhibits and prepare documents for pre-renewal meetings
- Prepare underwriting and pricing exhibits, including exposures, experience rating, profit and loss analysis, expense models, triage, and updated account information
- Manage account documentation, including proposals, agreement letters, reinsurance contracts, collateral agreements, policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations
- Ensure accurate and timely servicing and billing of accounts
- Communicate with brokers/agencies, wholesalers, and internal departments
- Research and resolve issues and respond to inquiries and questions
- Coordinate with Operations Specialist to update internal systems and complete rating
- Prepare quotes by reviewing exposures and experience rating, updating account information and rates, and adjusting prices as requested
- Complete renewals based on formal guidelines or Letters of Authority
- Provide information for regulatory compliance, including statutory filings, proof of insurance, and certificates
- Participate in projects and assignments as requested
- Manage relationships with agents, wholesalers, peers, and business partners
- Resolve conflicting priorities in collaboration with the leader
- May need to be available for agency visits
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma plus 3+ years of relevant experience required
- Three or more years insurance experience related to rate, quote, and issuance of P&C Insurance preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong property knowledge a plus
- Independently able to assign class codes
- Able to handle bureau criticisms
- Demonstrates ability to assess a situation promptly and take appropriate action
- Able to meet standards set by manager and set high standards for self
- Capable of working across complex organizations
- Effective communication skills, in person and virtual
- Comfortable with change
- Demonstrates ability to perform in a business professional manner with a positive attitude
- Demonstrates the ability and drive to seek development opportunities
