About the role
- Participate on a small team of business analysts in planning, design, development, and launching of systems in support of core organizational functions
- Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements
- Participate in meetings with business unit leadership, systems owners, and end users to define system requirements
- Engage with IT stakeholders in the planning, design, and development of new applications
- Participate in design sessions to prototype new systems to enhance business processes
- Conduct analysis to make recommendations addressing trouble areas in systems and processes
- Adhere to established project timeline for milestone delivery and communication plan
- Provide systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts for development direction
- Identify causes for issues based on findings and complete with viable solutions
- Collaborate with Digital Service teams to ensure compatibility of in-house systems
- Coordinate testing of application systems, including end-user acceptance and QA reviews
- Provide documentation and training to end users for modified and new systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5+ years relevant experience as a Business Analyst within P&C claims
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for claims application systems
- Comprehensive understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
- Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Logical, efficient, and attention to detail
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Self-motivated and directed
- Ability to adhere to established priorities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Insurance industry experience, ideally as Business Analyst for claims systems in P&C domain
- Business rule configuration and UI configuration experience for claims application
- Good knowledge of application interfaces and cloud technologies (AWS)
- Excellent Database knowledge, able to write and extract simple SQL queries
- Ability to apply business knowledge to improve claims administration workflows
