About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and improve processes throughout the operational areas
  • Designing of new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems
  • Purchasing and overseeing equipment installation
  • Work cross-functionally in manufacturing and assembly areas
  • Engage with other teams as per project requirements
  • Lead, support, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers
  • Set and review objectives aligned with operational goals
  • Design and implement new systems, equipment, and processes to support product introduction
  • Support DfM/DfA activities
  • Lead equipment reviews and tenders
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, manage budgets, and performance data in collaboration with finance
  • Work closely with R&D to ensure products are ready for manufacture
  • Develop automated and manual systems, test processes, and champion change management
  • Consistently promote SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and improve efficiency, quality, and speed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must hold, as a minimum, a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar engineering role
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in CAD, including both 2D and 3D systems, ideally AutoCAD and Siemens NX
  • Formal training in Six Sigma would be advantageous, although not essential
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in discrete part manufacture and assembly
  • Knowledge of can making equipment is advantageous but not essential
