About the role
- Prepare project financial performance, including analysis of profit and loss (P&L) statements, forecasts and variances to ensure alignment with budgets and financial objectives.
- Review and interpret project contracts to ensure invoicing, scope of work and financial reporting comply with contractual terms.
- Manage billing processes, validate subcontractor and supplier costs, and ensure billing is accurate, complete and timely.
- Prepare project-level financial reports, cost-to-complete estimates and summaries to support management decision-making.
- Identify financial risks or variances and implement corrective actions to maintain strict control over costs and margins.
- Supervise and support the financial analyst by setting priorities, improving processes and strengthening project-related financial controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- CPA designation is an asset but not required
- Experience in project accounting, project control or a finance role in a construction-related environment
- Bilingual: fluent in French and English
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, prioritize and coordinate work in a multi-deadline environment and with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
