About the role
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers focused on building the services, tooling, and infrastructure that enable ML lifecycle management — from data ingestion and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring.
- Define and execute the vision for scalable ML infrastructure that empowers data scientists and engineers to rapidly prototype, train, and deploy models in production.
- Partner with Data Science, Product, and Cloud Engineering to ensure seamless integration between data pipelines, ML models, and production systems.
- Design and implement core components of the Falcon AI and ML ecosystems, ensuring the platforms are secure, performant, and extensible for evolving AI workloads.
- Establish engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement of deployment and observability practices.
- Build systems that ingest, process, and analyze billions of events daily with high reliability, leveraging distributed computing, container orchestration, and modern cloud technologies.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching and feedback, and serve as the primary advocate for your team within the broader Data Science organization.
- Monitor industry trends in ML infrastructure, MLOps, and AI platform engineering to ensure CrowdStrike remains at the forefront of data-driven security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years managing teams of 5+ engineers.
- Proven track record building data or ML infrastructure at scale.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Python or Golang, Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems and streaming data pipelines.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow) and MLOps principles.
- Hands-on experience with model deployment, feature stores, and model monitoring pipelines is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop talent, manage performance, and inspire teams toward ambitious goals.
- Skilled at partnering with data scientists, product managers, and executives to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset for making architectural and operational decisions.
- Experience leading teams in Agile environments with iterative development and fast-paced delivery.
- Experience building automated ML infrastructure or internal ML platforms at enterprise scale is a bonus.
