About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the availability and health of key services within the CICD environment
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
- Drive automation for service deployment and operational workflows
- Carry on-call responsibility and lead incident response and blameless postmortems to root cause
- Gather and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance tuning and root-cause analysis
- Lead system design discussions, production readiness reviews, and capacity planning
- Evaluate and integrate agentic and AI-assisted workflows
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code review, design pairing, and incident retrospectives
- Investigate emerging technologies and recommend solutions for future roadmap goals
- Build and maintain automated reporting on service health and compliance
- Provide technical feedback on projects outside the core ownership area
- Partner with senior engineers and engineering leaders on cross-team reliability improvements
- Contribute to the Embedded SRE model and strengthen SRE/service-team partnerships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be eligible for CJIS clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale production SRE or infrastructure environments
- 3+ years of experience leveraging and integrating AI-assisted workflows
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another highly technical, scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience
- On-premise and cloud expertise deploying and operating CI/CD tools including Bazel, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions
- Experience with IaC provisioning tools including Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Terraform
- Experience with source code management tools including Bitbucket, GitHub, and GitLab
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms including Datadog, Grafana, Humio/LogScale, Honeycomb, New Relic, Prometheus, and Splunk
- Experience creating, deploying, operating, and scaling applications on Kubernetes
- Extensive experience deploying and managing Cassandra, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, and Redis/Valkey at scale
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, and PowerShell
- Experience with SAN, NAS, NFS, and object storage technologies
- Experience architecting and deploying big data systems
- Working understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Proven ability to make timely decisions under ambiguity and balance operational needs against strategic goals
- Ability to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones
- Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes
- Periodic additional background and fingerprint checks may be required
- Bonus: networking and troubleshooting knowledge, multiple cloud hyperscalers, self-service provisioning platforms, Active Directory/Windows Server, hybrid on-premises and cloud environments, and data science/machine learning/ETL tooling
