About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the research agenda for agentic AI systems operating autonomously across cybersecurity use cases
Set scientific direction and shape the team’s research priorities
Run experiments, review results, and investigate difficult problems alongside the team
Drive original research on efficient models for security workflows, including post-training, reward modeling, and data curation
Lead experimental work on ambiguous research problems
Establish evaluation, verification, and validation methodologies for models, data, agent designs, and end-to-end systems
Develop benchmarks, adversarial evaluation protocols, and measurement practices
Partner with security researchers, threat intelligence, detection engineering, and product teams
Define abstractions for agent skills and tools grounded in security operations
Advance agent design science, including harnesses, scaffolding, planning, memory, tool use, and multi-step reasoning
Contribute novel techniques through publications and standards
Mentor and grow researchers in the security domain

Requirements

What you’ll need

MS or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar quantitative field
10+ years of experience in data science, ML/DL, or AI focused on large-scale data problems
Hands-on expertise in modern LLM post-training techniques
Demonstrated research contributions to or experience building agentic systems
Strong evaluation discipline, including designing, extending, or validating methodologies
Leadership style that values hands-on contributions at every level
Bonus: hands-on background in offensive security, detection engineering, incident response, or threat intelligence applied research
Bonus: experience designing RL environments and synthetic data pipelines for agent tuning
Bonus: experience with regulatory, compliance, or audit conversations about AI systems
