About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a growing team of engineers focused on building quality platforms
  • Participate in architecting large-scale distributed tracing and metrics platforms for CrowdStrike service teams
  • Participate in retrospectives, capacity meetings, and planning meetings with the team
  • Participate in “lunch and learn” demos for new proofs of concept and design sessions
  • Review, provide feedback on, and approve new design proposals from the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in observability and tracing, including Otel, Tempo, Sentry, or similar solutions
  • Experience in observability and metrics, including Prometheus, Thanos, or similar solutions
  • Software development experience, preferably building Kubernetes operators using Python, Bash, or Go
  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
  • Experience operating in the cloud; AWS and GCP preferred
  • Experience with TDD, CI/CD, Chaos Engineering, or similar infrastructure resilience and reliability practices
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively with local and remote teams
  • Contributions to and involvement in open-source projects
  • Experience being on-call
  • Knowledge of SRE, DevOps, and GitOps practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
