About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a group of 6+ engineers building a petabyte-scale data ingestion platform
Solve distributed-systems challenges involving high availability, reliability, performance, and cost optimization
Own the team’s roadmap and quarterly OKRs
Instill operational excellence for globally available, multi-region production systems
Define and uphold team SLOs
Engage regularly with product management, customer success, and support stakeholders
Lead with customer and product focus
Maintain a high bar for engineering talent and accountability
Collaborate with teams across CrowdStrike’s data platforms and product organizations
Travel a few times every year to meet teams and peers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Strong technical background architecting, designing, and developing distributed-systems products/releases across the development lifecycle
Experience preferably in a large-scale cloud environment
2+ years of experience managing teams of 6+ individual contributors
Experience delivering multiple major product milestones
Demonstrated track record of building strong engineering teams
Demonstrated operational excellence operating services spanning many components and geographical regions
History of positive impact on customer experience and business results
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in large-scale distributed-system architecture, scalability, availability, and optimization is a bonus
Experience with stream processing, Kafka, or similar technologies is a bonus
Must periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements
