About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a group of 6+ engineers building a petabyte-scale data ingestion platform
  • Solve distributed-systems challenges involving high availability, reliability, performance, and cost optimization
  • Own the team’s roadmap and quarterly OKRs
  • Instill operational excellence for globally available, multi-region production systems
  • Define and uphold team SLOs
  • Engage regularly with product management, customer success, and support stakeholders
  • Lead with customer and product focus
  • Maintain a high bar for engineering talent and accountability
  • Collaborate with teams across CrowdStrike’s data platforms and product organizations
  • Travel a few times every year to meet teams and peers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Resident
  • Strong technical background architecting, designing, and developing distributed-systems products/releases across the development lifecycle
  • Experience preferably in a large-scale cloud environment
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams of 6+ individual contributors
  • Experience delivering multiple major product milestones
  • Demonstrated track record of building strong engineering teams
  • Demonstrated operational excellence operating services spanning many components and geographical regions
  • History of positive impact on customer experience and business results
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in large-scale distributed-system architecture, scalability, availability, and optimization is a bonus
  • Experience with stream processing, Kafka, or similar technologies is a bonus
  • Must periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements
